Thank you Dr. Thornbury!
(I'm sure he'd love this picture...haha)
Here are a few other pictures from that amazing day:
Holding you for the first time
Daddy's turn
Your first bath
First family picture
And now, here we are!!
I'll post the traditional "month" picture on a new post I'm working on :)
Firsts: birthday and birthday party, climbing up stairs, saying lots of "words"- you know the meaning of light- "ight", "mama", "dada", and maybe a few others. Other words you have repeated are: watch- "otch", "yes", and "what". You know what NO means, but haven't started saying it yet- we are happy about that. Lots of new foods- way too many to list. A favorite is Granna's (who you have renamed "Nana") chicken and dumplings. Standing by yourself, but just a few seconds. Also, you have started "dancing" to the music of some of your toys (and also certain TV show songs). We got a new video camera recently, and I have caught a little of this on video- it is precious. I think you also had your first stomach bug. No throwing up, but plenty of the other stuff (if ya know what I mean). You also had your first tailgating experience (outside of mommy's belly). We only stayed for about 30 minutes- it was hot, and it was way past your naptime.
News Headlines: 10 year anniversary of September 11, Auburn is now 3-1, new immigration law passed in Alabama
Milestones: As said before, you are standing by yourself for a few seconds. You can support your weight, but lose balance. You have 8 teeth, and no signs of new ones just yet. That's ok- we need a break! You are cruising a little more, but you don't go too far. If it's something you really want, you drop down and crawl to it.
Measurements: We went to the doctor for your 1 yr. check up on Monday, you weigh 22 lbs 1 oz (50%) and are 31.5 inches long (95%- wow!) We are in only size 4 diapers now (I think we'll be here for a while- they are a little big). Size 12-18 month clothes, but bigger for PJs - more like 18-24 month.
Other Info:
*You still eat mostly baby food- 2nd foods to be exact. We've tried some of the 3rd foods, but they are a little chunky and make you gag sometimes. We mentioned that you love chicken and dumplings, but we haven't substituted "real" food for a meal yet.
*Cheerios are still a favorite
*We have tried to give you formula in a sippy cup, but you refuse. The doctor has given us the 'go-ahead' for whole milk (a big thank you is coming from my wallet). I think we'll try milk in a sippy cup this weekend and see what happens. That nighttime bottle is going to be the hardest to give up.

Here are some pictures and videos from this month and the birthday party:
In Auburn for the 1st football game
Climbing stairs for the 1st time. We don't have any here, so this was a new experience- you caught on pretty quickly. Next thing we knew, you had sped up 13 stairs (with us close behind, of course).
Watching some TV with Jenna in Auburn (the men are installing a dishwasher in the background)
On the way back from Auburn, about 5 minutes after we left
Bless your sweet heart :)
Not only is it fun to pull up on the drawers- it's pretty awesome to stand INSIDE them
Adam will love this one...haha
He is precious. Happy birthday, Will!
