Holidays and Will updates

What a busy past couple months! I am so far behind with blogging, I almost don't know where to start.

We'll back all the way up to Halloween. Will dressed up as a pumpkin and LOVED his costume. He cried every time we had to take it off to buckle him in his carseat. We trick-or-treated at our 3 neighbors houses and then went to a festival at church. Will's friend Ella was there as the cutest little bumblebee you've ever seen. Will loved dancing to the music and eating sticky suckers.

Next up- Thanksgiving! Apparently I took zero pictures of any actual family gathering, boo. However I do have one of Will in this little indian headdress he made at daycare. He loved it so much and wore it all the time- complete with "woo woo woo" indian noises.

After the big Thanksgiving meal, Will played a little "bolf" with daddy in Mimi's backyard. Daddy is trying to teach him the correct technique :)

Fast forward to Christmas!
This year was so much fun. Jeff got a video of him coming out of his room and seeing the presents. It was precious! Any time anyone would ask what he wanted for Christmas, he would say the same thing- "a wed wagon" (red). Santa came through and brought him his very own red wagon full of presents! "Yegos" (legos) were also high on the list and he has loved playing with his new set. Most pictures were taken by my sister in law with an awesome camera, but I have a few that were on my phone.

Breakfast with Santa at "mama's cool" (school)
He ran right up to Santa and loved him!

Nana came too!

We went to Noccalula Falls to see the lights and ride the train with Ella's family. We waited FORever to get in and then another hour to ride the train. But the kids loved it! Will still talks about it today.

Christmas party at Mrs. Tucker's house. We don't know what we'd do without her! She has kept Will 3 days a week since he was 3 months old. She's the one that finally got him on some kind of sleep schedule when he was a baby.

The famous "wed wagon"! It has travelled all around our house (since the weather has been yucky). Will got these Christmas jammies from Mimi and PawPaw....

...get ready for the cutest picture ever...
all the cousins in matching pajamas- I love it!

Another favorite toy- a green car that goes when you shake it. He loves to lay down on the floor and play with it.

He loves his Cat in the Hat- this was in his stocking. He now sleeps with this, a puppy that the ladies in the nursery at church gave him, his tiger, and Llama Llama red pajama. And when I lay him down he says "cuber Will?" (cover Will)- add a blanket

He is talking SO much! Long sentences, 5-8 word sentences most of the time. When I went to get him out of bed the other morning, the first thing he says is, "Will need a nakin to bow nose and get boogas out!" Haha...

He also knows almost all of his letters (capitals only) and can spell his name, stop, and go. He's known shapes and colors for a while now, and numbers are still up to 20. He can sing the ABC's, Jingle Bells, Row Row Your Boat, and say a blessing "God Our Father" (with eyes closed- it's pretty adorable).

Tomatoes are still a favorite food. Here's a picture to prove it-
He eats several little ones with lunch and dinner every day.

He loves gummies, or "bumeens". The Scooby Doo ones in particular. If he eats a good dinner, he has some afterwards. "Ice peem" is also a favorite.

He is still napping for about 2 hours every afternoon, usually around 1:00 or so. Sometimes he naps longer, sometimes a little less than 2 hours.

We have not started potty training yet. He was wanting to sit on the potty like a big boy, so we got one of those seats to put on top so he doesn't fall in. I don't think he gets exactly what's supposed to happen once you sit down. Haha....I'm not pushing it though.
Anyway, that's a (not so) quick update on life at our house! Hope to be back soon!

2 Years Old!

*Warning*
Long post with information probably only close relatives will care about. But you know how that goes- I have to write down these things so I don't forget!

Will turned 2 a couple weeks ago! I can't believe it! He's growing and changing every day, and talks ALL the time. We had an airplane themed birthday party, and the kids had a great time in spite of the rain.

We go for his 2 year check-up in a couple weeks, so I'll have to update measurements then. Unfortunately, he has spent some time at the doctor's office the past few weeks. The most recent time he went, he weighed right at 27 pounds. Poor buddy has had a couple ear infections and bronchitis. He's almost fully recovered, but now his 2 year molars are coming in. Good grief, those things are huge!

He's wearing 24 month or 2T shirts, and 18-24 month pants. But sometimes those are too short, so we have to get 2T's with the adjustable waist. Whoever invented the elastic adjustable waist is a genius. We have to take it all the way up so they will fit his tiny waist.

He's wearing about a 6 1/2 size shoe, but some 6's work too. Diapers are still a size 4 during the day, 5 at night. No attempts or even thoughts of potty training, although yesterday, he did come up to me reaching out his hand saying, "Ham? Poo poo out- change biper?" He says "ham" when he wants to hold our hand and take us somewhere.

Before his molars begun to make an appearance, he was eating really well. He will usually eat most anything that we're having. Favorites being: hot dogs, chicken, "doodles" (noodles-spaghetti), "bips" (chips), "bumeens" (gummies- fruit snacks), "I-keem" (ice cream), and the list goes on.

His favorite toys of the moment include the train set he got for his birthday, his golf club set, green tractor, and any kind of ball. Speaking of golf, one of the cutest things he says is, "Daddy pay bolf wif me?" (Daddy play golf with me?) Adorable.

Will also knows all of his colors- he gets blue and purple mixed up sometimes, but 90% of the time he can tell you what color something is (even gray, pink, brown...). He knows his numbers to 20, and can say them in order most of the time (but the teens start to sound the same!). He counts everything: toys, fingers, toes, things on TV, etc. He knows the ABC song, and can recognize several letters: G, W, E, O, X, S, L, T, and A. He's getting better about shapes too, and can identify a circle, square, and triangle. The iPad should be added to the list of favorite toys, and it has lots of games with letters and shapes, although his favorite game right now is one with dump trucks.

He is especially attached to this tiger right now:
He calls it "giger", and takes it everywhere. He sleeps with it, plays with it, even takes it to the changing table to get his diaper changed- "ok giger, biper!"

Now, I'll get to the good stuff- the pictures:

Did I mention it was pouring down rain the whole time? The birthday banner held up for a little while.

Another favorite gift

playing with his new train set from Nana and Pop Pop

spaghetti night!

This would be the origin of his train obsession- the train room at Nana and Pop Pop's house. Yes, a whole room (an entire floor, actually). Pop Pop is a kid at heart :)

We spent a little time in Auburn before school started and he found this visor and wore it all morning. This is his "cheese!" face. We get our church directory pictures made this week, and I'm hoping for one of these smiles

If you are still reading, thank you, and you deserve a medal.

When I wait this long to blog, there's so much to write. Hopefully, it won't be so long before my next post!

Will Lately

Since I have stopped with the monthly posts, and since Will is seeming to change every day, I decided a (not so) little update was needed. He will be 22 months old in about a week. And he is talking. All. The. Time. No really, ALL the time. I would say about half of it we can understand (we, as in close family).

He is speaking in short sentences, such as "Wobut mow mow bass?" Translation: "Robert (our neighbor) mow mow grass?" We ride the golf cart every day and talk about our neighbors and who lives where. A lot of his sentences start with "na, na, na..."
Example, "Na, na, na, mimi and pawpaw ouse (house)". I think he says that instead of "I want to go to". Who knows? But it's pretty entertaining hanging with this little guy all day :) I'm definitely glad it's summer.

We finally gave up the night time bottle (shhh....awful I know), and he let it go like it never existed. What a relief.

He's still wearing size 4 diapers- he has the tiniest waist. Size 18-24 month clothes, some 2T, and size 6 shoes.

He has also now had his 2nd haircut. We documented the first one on a previous post, and this one went much better. He only cried a little at the beginning, and quickly became distracted by 2 sticky suckers.

Some favorites/obsessions of the moment:

or as he calls them, "ba ba's"
who knows where that came from....

matchbox cars- "cahs"

these little blankets- I never really called them anything, just "Where's your blanket?"
And somehow he now calls them "mup mups"
Whaaaat?

every night before bed- "amma, amma"

followed by:
"doNOTE!"
...and in that order, precisely.

I've DVR'd it....it's available all the time- "mouse!, Pete!, meme mouse! quack!"

major obsession here!! Airplanes, or really anything of the sort, helicopters included. He thinks he hears one, "airPANE???" he sees one, "airPANE!!!!!" freaks. out.
He loves them, so much that I am almost definitely going to do an airplane theme for his 2nd birthday party. It's either that or his 2nd favorite thing:
motorcycles.
And I don't think we are going to have a Harley themed party.
(Anytime he sees or hears one, he calls it an "aggie". That is the strangest of his words right now- no idea how he gets that- but bicycles, wheelchairs, and tricycles are all "aggies" too)

Some other pics of the last few weeks:

loves the water table

super cool

water from the hose is the best!

playing with sweet friend Ella

just doing some reading- I just KNOW he's thinking, "Mama, please buy me some Kelly's Kids." You'll have to take that one up with your daddy, buddy.

Lunch with Ayden after playing at Kidz Zone

So pretty much, he's a big kid now. He's growing so fast, and learning new words and phrases even faster. He is such a good baby (or I guess I should say toddler). Easily plays by himself, naps and goes to bed SO easily he almost does it himself. He can be a very loving child too. There are moments where he'll just let me cuddle with him. I say moments, and that could mean literally 8 seconds, or 8 minutes. I soak up every little bit I can get :)

Three Things Thursday

1. We are headed to the beach on Saturday! I am so excited! Here's a pic of the kiddie pool where we're staying-
Awesome- right?

2. Well, I'm a little concerned about #1 for this reason: turns out, Will hates the pool.
This is about as close as he got last weekend. Any farther, and he screamed bloody murder. And now, that traumatizing event has made him become afraid of the bath. Grrrreeaaaat.

3. One of Will's favorite things to do is play on my phone and iPad. He loves to make videos of himself. Today, we sent this little one to daddy while he was at work.
