18 Months and a Boo-Boo

A year and a half- I can't believe it!

Will is so much fun these days! He talks all the time, and can respond to simple commands. He understands a lot more than he can communicate.

-went to the dr. today- same weight and height as at 15 months: 33 1/2 inches, 25 lbs (way above avg. for height, about 50% for weight)

-the doctor's office is pretty much like the church nursery- he screams almost the entire time- our doctor may have needed a nerve pill after we left!

-we're down to one nap now, anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 3 hours, and it's in his crib, finally! The only way to get him to nap in his room during the day is by doing this:

*it is now super-dark in there*

- We're fully on table food now, with the exception of baby cereal mixed with fruit in the mornings. He's a really good eater for breakfast and lunch, but dinner is hit-or-miss. Rotissere chicken, meatloaf, and strawberries (bee bee's) are a few favorites.

-He now has 16 teeth! Everything except his 2 yr molars are in- he's getting really good at grinding up food with those back teeth.

-Still loves his milk. He's only had juice once or twice, and wasn't that crazy about it. So only milk or water for us!

-Loves to have his teeth brushed and claps when we finish

-I cannot even count how many words he is saying. There are too many to make a list. Some of the cutest ones are: diaper- bopoo, bath- baf (sometimes he can get the "th"), daddy- dadeee, cookie, cracker, and strawberry are on a previous post on video.

-He has also had his first real "boo-boo", requiring a bandaid. He fell off of a tricycle at the babysitter's house and his knee scraped the deck. He now can point and say "boo-boo"- it's pretty adorable:

-Tantrums have become longer-lived and a bit more severe. If we take something away or really just do anything he doesn't feel like doing at the moment (example: changing his diaper), he hits and kicks. Sometimes he throws a head-butt in there for good measure. Oh, boy....I fear this is only the beginning.

-I still get to cuddle with him before I lay him down at night- I love every second he lets me do it.

-His nighttime routine is pretty specific, according to Will, not us. As soon as the "baf" is finished and p.j.'s are put on, he does NOT want to play anymore. He wants to go straight to bed. As in, he walks in his room and leans up against the rocking chair and says "boop" (book) and points to the shelf. I've tried to get him to come out and play a little more, but he refuses. According to him, it is bedtime.

-This kid LOVES to be outside. He runs on the driveway, plays with a rake and broom, walks to the neighbors house (and sometimes wanders in their garage- I have to run and scoop him up). We do eventually have to come inside- insert tantrum here.

-You will see in a picture below that he is very exact and precise when he plays with blocks and other objects. Everything has it's place. In the bathtub, he lines all the blocks up on the edge and points to them as I count out loud.

Here are a few pictures:

We went to Auburn and a basketball game and stopped at Hastings-
this boy loves some books!

Pots and pans are favorites

Nana got him some UNC pajamas

outside!

just doin' some yard work

stinker :)

notice how he's moved all the 'single' blocks in one pile beside him

fascinated with the lawn guys on the mower

he must have stood there for 10 minutes, drool running down the window and all

Well, my Spring Break is over :(
Hopefully I will be able to blog before May, even if it's just a few pictures.

Stay tuned!

Just A Few Words

And a little sign language!

Will is talking ALL the time nowadays. But you know what else he's doing all the time? Running. So to capture some of the words he's saying on video, I had to strap him into the highchair and give him food. So much for not talking with your mouth full!

I probably recorded 20 videos trying to get him to say certain words. Sometimes, I got a blank stare. Other times, he just asked for more food. Haha...oh well, here's what I could get:
cookie and strawberry

asking for more strawberries- his sign language for "more" isn't exact, it looks more like he's about to punch someone- haha- but at least he knows what it means!

"down" and then random jabber- this is what he does all day long. He will sit and have a "conversation" with me, nodding his head, stopping to let me answer, and laughing at certain "funny" parts

and lastly, this is his sign language for "finished"- again, not exact, but he knows the meaning.

There are so many others I tried to get him to say- "diaper" is precious, but I just got a blank stare at that one. He must be a little camera shy :)

Look for an 18 month post coming soon! That's right- 2 posts in one week! It must be Spring Break :)
