Sam- 2 months

This sweet baby is 2 months old! Where has the time gone?

A few updates on baby Sam:
  • on average, sleeps from about 10:00 p.m. until 4 or 5 a.m.- then usually goes back to sleep for an hour or two after eating
  • takes about 3 naps a day and dozes around 8:00 or so until I feed him around 9 or 9:30 p.m.
  • naps are hit or miss- sometimes it's a good 2 hour deep sleep, other times (and more often), its several 20 minute sessions in a row
  • taking about 6 or 7 bottles a day, about every 3-4 hours
  • he is more gassy than his brother was, and usually spits up a little after each feeding- I don't think its enough to be called reflux; he doesn't usually seem uncomfortable
  • we go to the doctor for his 2 month check up on Thursday, so no measurements, but I'm guessing maybe 9-10 lbs?
  • we have used all the newborn diapers and are now in size 1's- using pampers and huggies, they both work fine
  • clothes are mostly 0-3 months, and a lot of them are still too big
  • there are still a few newborn clothes that he can fit in
  • loves the paci- we just use it when he naps sometimes, or when he's a little fussy
  • he loves bathtime!
  • he is so noisy! he grunts and snorts all the time, even when he's asleep
  • lots of smiles have been happening recently; even some sweet baby sounds and giggles
Here are a few pictures from the past month:

If you are holding him when he's sleepy, he likes to burrow. He will mash his little face into the crook of your arm or up against your chest and rub his nose on you :)

The Miracle Blanket

Look very closely at this picture.
If you stare long enough, you will see a glowing halo of light.
 Don't see it?

Well, I definitely do.

Thanks to this heavenly thing, my 7 week old baby has been sleeping through the night for several nights now. At first I thought it was coincidence. But no, I really believe it is this blanket.
I've never really been big on swaddling. I'm not especially good at it and when I do it, it doesn't seem to work very well. Plus, both of my babies love to sleep like this:

So I was convinced that they just didn't like to be confined.

I saw The Miracle Blanket on babysteals.com for half price. These suckers are normally 32 bucks, which is crazy for a blanket. But, after reading about it, I figured I'd get the discounted one and see what happens.
Hallelujah, I'm glad I did.

See, this is how it works:
And boom- peaceful, sleeping baby.

Yes, it looks like a straight jacket. But he loves it.
And I do too.

(I was not paid for this advertisement; this is simply my opinion, and maybe it will give some tired mommas some peaceful sleep)
